Network functions virtualization (NFV) and software defined networks (SDN), two of the most revolutionary technologies in the ICT sector, were the protagonists of a one-day workshop celebrated yesterday, October 19th, at University Carlos III of Madrid. The Workshop on OpenDayLight and NFV/SDN Orchestration was organized by 5TONIC, together with IMDEA Networks, OpenDayLight, UC3M and Telefonica, and it was sponsored by the Linux Foundation.
NFV and SDN technologies, are also the protagonists of the second edition of the postgraduate courses ‘Master and Specialist in NFV and SDN’ offered by University Carlos III of Madrid in collaboration with Ericsson and IMDEA Networks. Both of these technologies have a leading role to play in future 5G networks and are therefore a focal point in the collaborative work that these organizations carry out within the 5TONIC laboratory.
The Workshop on OpenDayLight and NFV/SDN Orchestration was attended by a large proportion of Ph.D. Students jointly affiliated to IMDEA Networks and UC3M, as the UC3M Telematics PhD program recognises this event as ‘Specific training’.
