European Projects: 5G-Ex

5G Exchange (5GEx) enables business and technical cross-domain orchestration of services over multiple administrations. Such orchestration allows instantiating end-to-end networks & services into multi-vendor heterogeneous technology resource environments. The goal of 5GEx is the automated assignment and mapping of virtualised service elements, creating opportunities for operators to buy, sell, and integrate infrastructure services in an automated and cost-effective manner.

5GEx focuses on a number of use cases for demonstrating the set of functionalities required for multi-domain and multi-technology perspectives, reflecting future realistic scenarios enabled by 5GEx. The use cases are categorised according to the target service scope: the Connectivity, the NFV Infrastructure as a Service, the Virtualised Network Function as a Service, and the Slice as a Service (composition of the previous ones) cases.
