Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) pioneer Saguna Networks has become a new collaborator within 5TONIC’s 5G research and co-creation laboratory in Madrid. The company joins existing collaborators that include ASTI Mobile Robotics, IFEMA, Luz Wavelabs, and Rohde & Schwarz.
The 5TONIC co-creation and research laboratory near Madrid, Spain, has collaborated with Autonomously Guided Vehicle (AGV) specialist ASTI Mobile Robotics to launch a series of tests that demonstrate 5G technology could be used to drive AGVs around large factories without the need for pre-set routes or tracks to follow.

However, one test this laboratory of 5G excellence co-founded and hosted by IMDEA Networks is running in its research premises involves a partnership with Madrid’s emergency services team to put smart sensors into a tee-shirt that could then monitor the vital signs of people suffering from known, life-threatening, conditions.
